Airborne and deposited water microdroplets can carry viruses including coronaviruses. The evaporation of containing virus particles often leads to inactivation. Microdroplet involves various mechanisms such as diffusion, the Kelvin effect, infrared irradiation, role solutes. For airborne microdroplets, temperature relative humidity ambient air are important factors. However, for sessile droplets on solid surfaces, wetting porosity become factors that control regular, superhydrophobic, photocatalytic surfaces.
